How Perks Work in the Blackout Beta


Unlike the Multiplayer, Perks in Blackout play out much differently, as they are now a consumable item and can only be found around the map. That’s not the only major difference though, as once you have found a Perk, they must be activated in order for them to work.

It’s important to remember, that Perks in Blackout are not permanent, and are instead consumable items that will only provide a buff for a limited amount of time. All Perks also take 2 seconds to activate.

While there will be over 21 different Perks available at launch, quite a few of those have been created specifically for Blackout and can definitely give you the upper hand when used correctly.

Here are all of the Perks currently available in Blackout.


Time: 2 – Duration: 180

Arguably the most helpful perk of them all, Stimulant will raise your maximum health by 100, which is extremely handy when playing on such a large map like Blackout, as you never know where your opponents may be lurking.

Use Time: 2 – Duration: 240

Lasting for a total of two minutes, Medic allows you to heal yourself and your allies much faster than usual and will also provide those that you revive with additional health.

Use Time: 1 – Duration: 300

Reduces the time that it takes to use items, heal, or even revive teammates by 20%. The Consumer Perk is ideal for those that are in intense situations that require fast healing and reviving before it’s too late.


Use Time: 2 – Duration: 180

If you’re struggling to make it to the circle in time, Outlander is perfect for these situations. Not only does the perk reduce damage from the circle but it also increases your speed and lasts for a total of two minutes.

Use Time: 2 – Duration: 240

Receive an audible alert when an enemy is targeting you while ADS (Aiming Down Sight). Paranoia is the perfect Perk for situations that involve traveling via a vehicle or having to run through a large open area, as the perk essentially allows you to be ready for any incoming enemy fire.

Use Time: 3 – Duration: 180

The Skulker Perk allows you to move just as fast as sprinting while you are crouched. This is the most ideal perk for outrunning sticky situations or simply moving quickly while still maintaining some level of stealth.

Use Time: 3 – Duration: 120

Looter reveals all nearby stashes and items. The Looter Perk is best used early on in the game to reveal the location of valuable loot to gain an instant upper-hand.

Hold your breath for even longer while shooting sniper rifles or diving underwater. Need a few extra seconds underwater to help lose your opponent or simply want to make sure that sniper shot hits? The Iron Lungs Perk is essential for any player that loves to snipe.

Use Time: 2 – Duration: 140

The Awareness Perk makes enemy footsteps even louder, making it ideal for those close quarter situations, where you just aren’t too sure were the nearby enemy is located. It is also very helpful in preventing enemies from sneaking up on those that enjoy camping, as it gives you the upper hand on anyone that wants to invade your space.

Use Time: 3 – Duration: 240

Reduces damage from explosions and fire. Increased resistance to flashbang, concussion, and razor wire. Perfect for those intense situations that have explosions going off left, right, and center.

Use Time: 2 – Duration: 240

The Dead Silence Perk allows you to move quietly and make less noise when opening stashes. If you’re looking to sneak up on a player or simply want to keep quiet when entering an unknown location, the Dead Silence Perk is great for those kind of situations.

Use Time: 2 – Duration: 240

The Engineer Perk reveals nearby vehicles and enemy Equipment. This particular perk would be great for those close encounter situations, that would make spotting nearby enemy Equipment quite the challenge. 

Use Time: 1 – Duration: 240

The Brawler Perk increases the damage you deal when meleeing and will also grant you an additional 50 HP per successful melee attack. This specific perk would be great for when you are low on health and attacking zombies. Not only would it allow you to gain some quick HP, but you would do so without drawing any attention to your location by using a weapon.
