PUBG MOBILE is celebrating its 0.9.0 update with a big Halloween bash. In true Erangel style, the treats are a new game mode, an updated map, new items, and a real-world event in NYC. But 0.9.0 has more than just candy and nightmare fuel. Check it out.
New for Halloweeks
Night Mode The OG Erangel map is getting an update: a day-night cycle. The fight for survival becomes more difficult whenever the map gets plunged into darkness, reducing player visibility and making muzzle flashes a dead giveaway.
For players really afraid of the dark, there are new night vision goggles to equip. The new gear may increase visibility, but it comes at a cost… like making the wearer a more valuable target.
Spawn Island and the Hellfire Curse Spawn island really got into the spirit of the season with a full-on makeover loaded with, costumed killers, jack o’lanterns, candy… and one hell of a curse:
Enemies killed with the “Hellfire-AKM” Halloween skin during the event will get turned into scarecrows that haunt the land. And if the AKM doesn’t get you, the spectral grenades will, as explosions now release the screaming faces of the damned.
Share for Deals (S4D)
Throughout the Halloweeks event, certain items in the PUBG MOBILE store will be marked with a special Share for Deals discount. Players can earn this discount by inviting friends to purchase the same item along with them. The more friends who join in, the steeper everyone’s discount.
Times Square Event
It’s a Hell of a Town
The PUBG Corporation street team also made New York City just a little bit scarier this Halloween as they descended on Father Duffy Square in Times Square on Sunday, October 28. They rolled into town in a real-world version of one of Erangel’s best-used vehicles (decorated for the event).
Not only did the car wear its costume, but it was also filled to the brim with loot, including mini-crates of candy and premium swag for fans who swung by.
Sugar and scopes
PUBG MOBILE has always been about surviving the round. But now, with the 0.9.0 update, the game is about finding ways to make it through the night (mode). Thankfully, Halloweeks is offering incentives ranging from new skins to fresh suspense, to in-game candy, to real-world candy.
With enough skill, some good drops, and maybe a trip to New York, players might just get all that and the coveted chicken dinner.
