In celebration of Mario Day (March 10), Google has collaborated with Nintendo to bring the iconic video game mascot to Google Maps.
Starting today and running until March 17, Google Maps users around the world can replace the app’s navigation arrow with Mario.
Updating the app through Google Play or the App Store is required to enable the feature. Once the update has been downloaded, all you need to do is click the yellow “? Block” icon located on the bottom right of the app and the regular navigation arrow will be replaced by Mario driving a kart.
Nintendo has a plenty more planned for Mario in 2018. Switch owners will get to play tennis as the platforming plumber when Mario Tennis Aces launches this June, and 3DS owners must search for him as Luigi in the upcoming handheld remake of the original Luigi’s Mansion.
On top of that, Super Smash Bros. is making its way to Switch in 2018, and Mario will undoubtedly be a part of its roster.
